Well, I’ve found myself a blog and it’s free!  You can’t beat that.  Now comes the part where I mention something enlightening, funny, and so interesting that everyone comes back for more.  So, for my first post I’ll let everyone know that I’ll probably bore you to death!  Just giving you fair warning of what’s to come!

Speaking of what’s to come, I’ve been really excited about the Advent season this year.  Amist the craziness of Christmas preparations people tend to forget what it’s all about.  For me Advent and Christmas are about the gift of salvation come down to earth through a baby.  It’s also about the promise that He will return to earth again.  No one likes thinking about ‘end times’, me included, but there is something beneficial about slowing down and examining your life during one of the most chaotic times of year.  Therefore, everyone reading this…Slow down, breathe, and remember what this time is really about

Alrighty!  How about some more information about me!  I’m 27 and married to a wonderful man named Erik.  We are new to the parenting world and have been extremely blessed by our little girl Jannah’s arrival (June 18, 2007.)   She’s a great baby.  Always happily soothed and just seems to be happy in general.  Her Grandpa Chris likes to call her ‘wonder baby.’  Here’s a picture of her…
This was at about two weeks old.

I’ll probably often share things about my job.  I am lisensed by the state to run an in home child care business.  I hate hate hate it when people say I’m just a babysitter.  Arg…I don’t have a degree in early childhood, but I do have one (in English and History) and I have also taken the required classes to have earned the right to be lisensed.  I am currently caring for four children and plan on staying at part time as long as I can.  I’ve had some difficulties with going back to work after the girlie was born, but feel blessed to be with her everyday and still be able to bring in some income for our family.  I’m sure you’ll hear more about this part of my life later.  I guess that’s all for today.  Thanks for joining me and getting a glimpse into my life and ramblings.  Have a great day everyone! (Don’t forget to stop and take a breather….and reflect!)
